FAQ

  • I do both machine and handpoked tattoos. I am currently prioritizing machine tattoos.

  • A hand-poke, otherwise known as a stick and poke or a machine-free tattoo, is a tattoo created without the use of a tattoo machine. I use the same needles, ink, and other materials as a machine artist, but the tattoo is applied one dot at a time by hand.

A hand-poked tattoo is just as permanent as a machine tattoo. When applied properly, they will not fade any faster than a machine tattoo.

  • I am located in Toronto, Canada in a private studio called Noon. We are located at 44 Stafford St, Unit C. The nearest intersection is King & Strachan.

  • No, I work by appointment only.

  • I book 1-3 months at a time.

  • You must be at least 18 years old at the time of your appointment in order to be tattooed by me. There are no exceptions, even with parental consent. You may be asked to show photo ID at your appointment.

  • Due to space limitations we are not allowing guests to accompany you to the studio. If you feel safer with someone accompanying you please let us know ahead of time and we will try to accommodate.

  • In order to secure your booking, you will need to send a non-refundable deposit. Your deposit reserves your appointment date/time, as well as your flash design. It also provides me a bit of security against no-shows. The deposit will be deducted from the total tattoo price that you pay at the end of your session.

  • If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please provide as much advance notice as possible via email. If you reschedule an appointment up to 72 hours before it is scheduled to take place, you can reapply your deposit to your new appointment. If you reschedule less than 72 hours before your appointment, you will need to provide a new deposit in order to rebook. Cancelling an appointment without intent to reschedule will result in the loss of your deposit.

  • Most of my appointments take from 1-3 hours. The length of time a tattoo takes varies a lot depending on a number of different factors. Keep in mind that there is more to a tattoo appointment than just the tattooing as well - we will also spend time discussing your design, placing the stencil, and photographing the final piece. Larger or more complex pieces can take upwards of 4 hours. You will be given a rough time estimate when you book your session.

  • The price of your tattoo will vary depending on a number of factors - size, detail, placement, colour, and the time it takes to complete the appointment. My current minimum is $175 plus HST (which covers 1 hour). Custom tattoos start at $250. You can typically expect to pay approximately $175 per hour for every hour thereafter, but I do not operate on a strictly hourly pricing structure.

If you would like a quote for your piece, please let me know as many details as possible from the above when booking so I can provide an accurate estimate. Please keep in mind that the estimated price is subject to change based on the scope of the design and execution of the tattoo.

If you have a budget in mind for your tattoo, please let me know in advance. I want my tattoos to be accessible, and am happy to work with you to come up with a design within your price range.

  • I prefer cash payments, but I also accept e-transfer and Paypal.

  • Tips are not mandatory, but are appreciated. Anywhere from 10% to 30% is common for a tip on a tattoo.

  • Yes! I love travelling to tattoo. If you would like to request me to your city, you can send me an email with your city in the subject line to be added to a waitlist. If you live in a small city or town, please choose a larger nearby city as I will be more likely to visit larger cities. Once I make plans to travel to your city, I will send you an email notifying you.

  • In my work, I refer to flash as pre-drawn designs that are available to be tattooed. These designs are often posted on my instagram stories, and can also be viewed in person at your appointment. My flash is repeatable, but I prefer not repeating the same designs too often. I am always happy to offer a slight variation on a design I’ve already tattooed.

Custom work refers to designs made specially for you. These can be based on my flash (combining elements, changing colours, adding things), or they can be entirely new drawings based on your ideas. I love doing custom work, but please understand that I do not accept all custom projects. If you are interested in a custom project, make sure that they design would fit within my style. If I don’t take on your project, it could be because I don’t think I am the right artist to do the job. If I can think of a good alternate artist, I’ll be happy to recommend them to you.

  • No, please do NOT get any of my designs tattooed by another tattooer. I am so grateful that you like my work, but I only tattoo my designs myself. It is unfair to me as the artist when someone else gets paid for my labour. My art is personal to me, and the act of tattooing you is an important part of my practice. I also cannot control the quality of the final tattoo when someone else is reproducing my work.

I understand it can be difficult if you live far away, but I do love travelling and hopefully one day I will travel close to you. You can request me to your city by sending me an email with your city as the subject line (follow the instructions from the previous question).

  • As per the above, I really prefer tattooing all my designs myself. I have a fairly full work-load with my existing clients, and the actual process of tattooing my work is important to me, so I rarely take on commissions. That said, there are special cases where I may consider doing a commission for you. If you live somewhere that I do not plan to travel to, or cannot travel to any time soon, I am more likely to accept the commission.

If you want to get a commission, please email me detailing where you live, and what you want to get tattooed. If you have the artist picked out, let me know who will be executing the tattoo.

  • I provide free touch-ups for my tattoos. If you need a touch-up, just send me an email with “Touch Up” in the subject line and include photos of your tattoo.
